Abstract

This study explores the COVID-19 pandemic in the poetry of Isa Alabi Abubakar through an analytical approach aimed at uncovering the dimensions of the poetic experience during the global health crisis. The significance of the study lies in its focus on the creative interaction with a contemporary event that deeply affected human emotions, highlighting how the poet employed poetic language to express pain, hope, fear, and faith amid the pandemic. The research problem centers on how the poet addressed the phenomenon of COVID-19 from both humanistic and artistic perspectives, and how he transformed a real-life event into a poetic experience rich in intellectual and aesthetic meanings. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical method to examine the meanings, symbols, and artistic techniques in the selected texts.
